Multimedia theater experience combining drones with performers. Phantom pain is designed as an immersive theater spectacle. Drones and other technology are used to tell a story around a group of characters who live in glass boxes. They only interconnect via the drones. As an extension of the body they function as a phantom body to safely step outside the own space. Or is this a false security? Can new technology challenge us to let go of our fears, to float without purpose or function or limitations? Questions such as 'what do we experience when body and mind are decoupled and mixed with technology?, What limits and boundaries do we set on ourselves or are appeased on us by the other?

Phantom pain was performed during the Breda Cultuurnacht 2015, and was co designed with students of CMD Avans University of applied science in Breda.  www.cultuurnachtbreda.nl
