ZINGMOND

Zingmond is a hallucinogenic multimedia musical theatre spectacle about evil and innocence. A brutal mix of theatre, film, opera, soundscapes and dance-beats inspired by Marcel Beyer (1995) book Flüghunde. During Zingmond you wander through a uniquely designed labyrinth of voices, situated in Hitler's command bunker in Berlin. The story deals with the German scientist Herman Karnau, incapsulated by the Nazi regime he works as an acoustician obsessed with the human voice. He secretly collects and archives human voices in all its appearances. In concentration camps and on the battlefield, he has access to the most exceptional sound regions. According to him, the human soul is housed in the voice. Apart from Karnau, another voice is percent: that of the cheerful twelve-year-old daughter of Hitler's minister of Propaganda. Cheerful and naive she looks into the world. During the bombing of the Allies, she and her brothers and sisters are transported by Karnau from hiding place to hiding place to finally find a last refuge in Hitler's command bunker.
